Professional Day 2019 has ended

Sharing Your Cultural Autobiography

After a brief introductory activity, participants will engage in self reflection and writing a personal cultural autobiography in response to guided questions. Participants will break into small groups to share the cultural autobiographies with others. Participants are asked to bring to the workshop a tangible childhood photograph of themselves, as well as a symbolic object that represents their current personal culture. The significance of these items also will be discussed in the small group. Participants then will engage as a large group in a privilege walk in response guided questions. Participants will share what they learned about themselves and others in response to these interactive experiences. The workshop will close with a brief ending activity.
